From the rugged mountains of Mendocino County to the foggy valleys below Santa Cruz Mountains, there is a finite number of truly great Northern California vineyard sites. Our charge is to find the best grapes and to render wines that faithfully translate the unique expression of place.

LIOCO was conceived in the alley behind Spago Beverly Hills by Kevin O’Connor and Matt Licklider. The two colleagues, critical of the heavy-handed wines of the day, wanted to focus on grapes from sites with older vines, interesting sites and heritage clones. These sites are often dry-farmed and hand-harvested which results in minimalist wines that delivers transparency and natural balance in every wine.
