BRAND HIGHLIGHT

Fonbel

Chateau Fonbel's history dates back to ancient Rome, when the Romans started cultivating grapes in St. Emillion. However, the winery we know today started when Alain Vauthier purchased the estate in 1971— the same family known for owning famous estates such as Chateau Ausone, Chateau Moulin St. Georges in Saint Emilion and Chateau La Clotte.

Today, the estate is run by his daughter, Pauline Vauthier, and is located in the Saint Emilion plain, covering 16 hectares (39 acres).

It is made up of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 3% Carmenere, and the average age of the vines is 25 years old.
